Collected Memories: Quilts, Quilters and Quilting
Quilts are like time machines. While they have been used for centuries to keep warm and utilize fabric scraps, they also tell a story. This exhibit will transport visitors back in time with a narrative told through the medium of quilts. Quilters are invited to quilt in the gallery during the Museum’s open hours. All quilts on display are from the collection of Francis M. Parks, who will be leading a walk-through of the exhibit during the reception on Sunday, February 24 from 1pm until 3pm. Refreshments and tea will be available. The Erie Canal Museum is FREE and open seven days a week: Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm; Sunday, 10am – 3pm.
