New York Remembers

The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) has been chosen to host one of thirty "New York Remembers" exhibitions organized as part of a statewide recognition of the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The exhibit will open Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

On display at the MOST will be a battalion chief car from the FDNY headquarters at Metrotech in Brooklyn. It is believed that 18 FDNY battalion chiefs were lost on 9/11. The exhibition will also include a timeline of the history of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon along with a minute-by-minute detail of the events of September 11. Also on display will be a selection of smaller artifacts including a subway sign and turnstile from underneath the World Trade Center.

The "New York Remembers" exhibit is included with the purchase of regular museum exhibit admission Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday evenings in September, the exhibit will be free to the public between 5pm and 9pm for those who wish to visit when the MOST exhibits are closed for a time of reflection and rememberance.

The "New York Remembers" exhibit is a collaboration of the Office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, the 9/11 Foundation, the New York State Museum and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
